Subrogation Coordinator/Paralegal

Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, seeks a  full-time Subrogation Coordinator/Paralegal  with a minimum of three to six years of experience working as a property subrogation representative, and/or property or liability claims adjuster to join our Insurance Practice Group in our Stamford, CT; Providence, RI; or Boston, MA office. 

Robinson+Cole’s Subrogation Team comprises seasoned lawyers and leaders in the subrogation field. We prosecute large loss property subrogation claims, including claims arising from fires and explosions, water losses, construction defects, boiler and machinery failures, and marine and inland marine losses.  We handle complex and high-value subrogation claims for many of the world's largest insurers and reinsurers as well as more routine subrogation matters.

The subrogation coordinator facilitates the intake and management of property insurance subrogation claims, tracks deadlines and case progress, and serves as a key point of contact with our clients. The candidate will have the ability to interface with adjusters, experts, attorneys and staff.  They will also have knowledge of property insurance policy coverage; and have knowledge of the laws that impact property subrogation claims.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate must be highly motivated with strong organizational skills (with emphasis on detail) and the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Legal Administrative Assistant/Receptionist - Providence, RI

The Providence office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is currently seeking a full-time Receptionist. This position will also provide back up legal and administrative support as needed.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer a multi-line phone, greet visitors, schedule conference rooms, and order supplies
  • Provide secretarial support including typing, proofreading, filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and drafting documents
  • Maintain client and general files and ensure files are closed in a timely manner
  • Track and enter time on a daily basis, assisting with the billing process to meet billing deadlines
  • Generate inquiries and reports to assist attorneys with client billing
  • Update contact information in attorney’s Outlook contacts and firm-level information as needed 
  • May perform special projects as assigned by the Office Administrator

Qualified candidates will be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with timekeeping, billing, and contact management software is preferred. Experience with state and federal district court filing is a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with administrative departments and staff and efficiently utilize firm resources to meet deadlines. Candidates must be able to function independently and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Legal Administrative Assistant - Philadelphia, PA

Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is growing and we are seeking a full-time highly skilled Legal Administrative Assistant in our Philadelphia office to support attorneys in our Bankruptcy and Reorganizations practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience functioning independently in a fast-paced environment and possess exemplary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and organize the attorney’s practice including maintaining the attorney’s calendar, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to open, close and reactivate matters
  • Support the billing process including responding to client billing inquiries, generating inquiries and reports, and submitting expense reimbursements and check requests

Qualifications:

Professional Development Manager - Hartford, CT 

Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a Professional Development Manager in its Hartford office. This position will contribute to the success of the Firm by effectively identifying the right work experiences, client opportunities, formal training, and coaching to ensure continued progression and development of the Firm’s attorneys.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Firm leadership and the Director of Talent Acquisition & Professional Development on attorney promotion and succession planning
  • Meet with Practice Group Leaders to review talent management and development efforts and collaborate on associate work allocation
  • Implement a curriculum of CLE programs and monitor attorney requirements, working with CLE boards to obtain CLE certification for in-house programs
  • Plan, manage and deliver training programs and firm-wide programs including evaluations, engagement surveys, and mentoring opportunities to enhance retention and further development of our attorneys
  • Develop competency-based performance objectives and continually evolve and integrate the competencies into development and retention initiatives, developing a road map to deliver on those priorities
  • Report on key internal talent development success metrics and regularly communicate the effectiveness and efficiency of the talent development function
  • Propose training and development programs and objectives
  • Develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
  • Serve as a member on the Professional Development Committee

Candidates must have at least 10 years of direct experience with talent development in a law firm or other professional services firm with extensive experience in designing and implementing solutions to support individuals. Bachelor’s degree required, education or learning degree preferred. Extended certification such as CPLP also preferred.

Qualified candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong judgement and high emotional intelligence, as well as project management skills. This position requires an individual with cultural sensitivity and must be able to maintain the highest level of discretion while handling sensitive information.

Business Immigration Paralegal - Hartford, CT

The Hartford office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a full-time Business Immigration Paralegal with a minimum of two years of experience to join our Immigration practice.

Our lawyers, experienced in all aspects of immigration law, represent Fortune 100 and Global 500 companies, as well as small businesses, new ventures, and nonprofit organizations, including hospitals and universities.  Our firm provides a full range of immigration legal services. We regularly prepare submissions to all applicable government agencies and assist clients with employment eligibility verification and compliance.

Human Resources Generalist - Hartford, CT

The Hartford office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a full-time enthusiastic Human Resources Generalist to join the HR Team.

Working closely with the HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and initiatives of the Human Resources team.  The HR Generalist has responsibilities in the following functional areas:  recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the talent acquisition process including sourcing & reviewing resumes, scheduling & conducting interviews, and facilitating background screen checks.
  • Provides backup administration of benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, etc.).
  • Ensures delivery of new hire welcome materials and follows up on the completion of new hire documentation.
  • Coordinates onboarding activities including initiating the provisioning steps and ensuring completion prior to new hire arrival.
  • Serves as HR system subject matter expert, with continuous attention to detail while processing and maintaining HRIS system modules.
  • Performs ad hoc reporting for the HR team and other leaders.
  • Manages all employee files including creating and archiving files as needed.
  • Administers various vendor relationships including staff milestone anniversary gift program and parking.
  • Assists employees, supervisors and managers with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures as well as responds to employment verifications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience preferred, benefits administration experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and computer data entry
  • Excellent organizational skills, team player and detail oriented
