Current Needs

Commercial and Real Estate Litigation and Patent Prosecution Paralegal - Boston, MA

The Boston office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, seeks an experienced full-time paralegal with significant experience assisting attorneys in complex commercial and real estate litigation and in patent prosecution. The candidate must have working knowledge of real estate and title records and filings, and federal and state court practice, and will be expected to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process including motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, file analysis, and research.

The paralegal also:

  • Creates and utilizes paper and electronic document collection, review and production systems and tracking documents with minimal supervision;
  • Coordinates automated litigation support projects through utilization of technology, including database management software (Relativity or similar) and Case Notebook; and
  • Demonstrates ability to manage utilization of litigation databases by case team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with e-discovery software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility for overtime
  • Candidate must be highly motivated with strong organizational skills (with emphasis on detail)
  • Candidate must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office preferred. Experience with commercial docketing software, such as CPI or CPA, and familiarity with foreign filing practice in coordination with foreign patent agents are preferred.

Litigation Paralegal - Miami, FL

The Miami office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an AmLaw200 firm, seeks a full-time experienced litigation paralegal to assist attorneys with case management. Responsibilities will include all aspects of civil litigation file management, including, but not limited to:

document review, filing, mediation and trial preparation, requesting and responding to discovery, preparing for depositions, drafting reports and summaries, communicating with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses and court personnel, maintaining court dockets, coordinating  docket activities to ensure all dates are calendared and deadlines met, and providing docket reports upon request. Experience communicating with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel, as well as general civil litigation experience is required.  

Qualified candidates should have four to eight years of experience in civil litigation. Experience working on insurance coverage cases, specifically property insurance coverage litigation or liability coverage litigation is preferred. Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required. Experience with electronic databases, Relativity, Trial Director, and West Case Notebook or similar products is preferred.  Proficiency with CompuLaw or other similar docketing software is preferred. Bachelor’s degree with a paralegal certification preferred.

Legal Administrative Assistant - Philadelphia, PA

Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is growing and we are seeking a full-time highly skilled Legal Administrative Assistant in our Philadelphia office to support attorneys in our Bankruptcy and Reorganizations practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience functioning independently in a fast-paced environment and possess exemplary communication and collaboration skills. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
•    Manage and organize the attorney’s practice including maintaining the attorney’s calendar, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
•    Manage matter lifecycle by opening new matters at intake, reactivating matters and closing matters
•    Support the billing process including responding to client billing inquiries, generating inquiries and reports, and submitting expense reimbursements and check requests 
•    Perform secretarial duties such as typing, proofreading, filing, photocopying, drafting documents, faxing, scanning and covering phones 
•    Assist with reception services, facilities requests and other special projects as assigned 

Qualifications: 
•    Experience with state and federal court filing, DE and PA preferred, NJ and NY a plus 
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant, litigation experience strongly preferred, bankruptcy experience a plus 
•    Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, paralegal certificate a plus
•    Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, iManage, Aderant as well as contact management software

Human Resources Generalist - Hartford, CT

The Hartford office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a full-time enthusiastic Human Resources Generalist to join the HR Team.

Working closely with the HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and initiatives of the Human Resources team.  The HR Generalist has responsibilities in the following functional areas:  recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the talent acquisition process including sourcing & reviewing resumes, scheduling & conducting interviews, and facilitating background screen checks.
  • Provides backup administration of benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, etc.).
  • Ensures delivery of new hire welcome materials and follows up on the completion of new hire documentation.
  • Coordinates onboarding activities including initiating the provisioning steps and ensuring completion prior to new hire arrival.
  • Serves as HR system subject matter expert, with continuous attention to detail while processing and maintaining HRIS system modules.
  • Performs ad hoc reporting for the HR team and other leaders.
  • Manages all employee files including creating and archiving files as needed.
  • Administers various vendor relationships including staff milestone anniversary gift program and parking.
  • Assists employees, supervisors and managers with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures as well as responds to employment verifications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience preferred, benefits administration experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and computer data entry
  • Excellent organizational skills, team player and detail oriented
