      • Representation of the Housing Authority of the City of New London, which operates five state-supported housing complexes and two federal complexes. The authority has been listed by regulatory agencies as a troubled agency due to its financial condition for much of the last decade. Robinson & Cole served as special counsel to assist in initiatives for improving its financial condition. The authority had designated two moderate income state units for potential privatization and renovation. Robinson & Cole researched the title to these units, investigated funding alternatives, and advised the authority in developing a request for proposals from private developers. A private developer was selected, and Robinson & Cole negotiated a complex development agreement, including a limited partnership in which the authority would be a special limited partner, a long term ground lease, and an operation and management agreement. Robinson & Cole then worked with the developer and the authority to apply for financing through low-income housing tax credits and a loan program, which the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority approved.
      • Representation of Priceline.com, an international Internet travel service, to structure and negotiate a 10-year lease extension and amendment agreement regarding 70,000 square feet of office space for its headquarters in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
