Benjamin Jensen represents clients in litigation and regulatory compliance matters involving technology, data privacy and cybersecurity. He is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property + Technology and Business Litigation Groups, as well as the Data Privacy + Cybersecurity Team. Mr. Jensen also leads the firm’s Financial Services Cyber-Compliance Team and the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Technology initiative.
Mr. Jensen represents business clients in technology-based disputes, including intellectual property litigation in federal courts throughout the country. His experience includes patent infringement litigation in the Eastern District of Texas and the Southern District of New York. He has also managed major litigations in federal courts involving theft of trade secrets, trademark infringement, including proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, software license disputes and copyright infringement, including claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. He is a member of the Janet Bond Arterton Intellectual Property Inn of Court.
Data Privacy and Cybersecurity
As a member of the Data Privacy + Cybersecurity Team and co-chair of the Financial Services Cyber-Compliance Team, Mr. Jensen assists clients in developing policies and procedures to comply with state and federal data privacy and security laws and regulations. He works with companies to investigate potential data breaches and to comply with notification requirements under applicable law. He is a regular contributor to the firm’s Data Privacy + Security Insider blog, with a focus on cryptocurrency and applications of blockchain technology.
Complex Business Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings
Mr. Jensen represents business clients in complex litigation matters nationwide. In addition to intellectual property litigation, he has handled specialized subject matter including defense of class actions, complex construction litigation and regulatory proceedings before the Connecticut Departments of Banking, Public Health and Social Services. Mr. Jensen’s litigation experience includes jury and bench trials in state and federal courts.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Jensen is actively involved in the local business and philanthropic community, having served as the chair of Hartford Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs and on the Board of Directors for the American School for the Deaf. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Connecticut Forum.
Mr. Jensen has been selected to the Connecticut Super Lawyers list since 2013.
