    Dispute Resolution

When parties involved in a construction project reach a disagreement over any issue, such as payments, performance, or scheduling, Ms. Andrzejewski provides negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation assistance. She emphasizes a shared goal of reaching a prompt and effective resolution. Ms. Andrzejewski achieved a favorable agreement in mediation for the owners of a high-end residence, on a claim relating to multi-million dollar defective construction and design. She also successfully defended a surety in litigation involving a multi-million dollar performance bond claim in Connecticut.

Ms. Andrzejewski also drafts notice and demand letters, complaints, declaratory actions, liquidation and settlement agreements. She manages claims involving defective design and construction, change orders and delays, mechanics' liens, and payment and performance bond claims. Ms. Andrzejewski is experienced at handling surety bond claims, including the negotiation and settlement of payment and performance bond claims, litigation disputes and indemnity recovery. Ms. Andrzejewski has experience in negotiating successful outcomes for contractors and sureties alike, and is familiar with the complexities of public-private partnership (P3) projects.

Ms. Andrzejewski is part of Robinson+Cole’s Sustainability Group, an interdisciplinary team of lawyers which helps clients navigate the legal issues unique to sustainability efforts, such as the construction of green, or energy efficient, buildings. Her clients range from municipalities to universities to real estate developers. If a client is interested in energy efficient architecture or sustainable construction design, Ms. Andrzejewski can draft and negotiate relevant contracts. She provides clients with advice on matters related to energy efficiency in new construction and in the retrofitting of existing buildings.

Ms. Andrzejewski is a regular contributor to the firm’s blog, Construction Law Zone.

Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Ms. Andrzejewski interned at the University of Connecticut School of Law's Criminal Clinic, the Connecticut Urban Legal Initiative, and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
